No time for a two-day course? Lunch & learns, half-days and conferences: short, hands-on training formats that work without losing a whole working day.
"We don't have time for a two-day course." It's the sentence we hear most often. And we agree: blocking an entire team for two days is expensive, complicated to organise and not always effective.
The real problem is forgetting. In Hermann Ebbinghaus's 19th-century experiments, replicated in 2015, most forgetting happens within the first hours and the first day. Those experiments used meaningless syllables, not workplace training, but the lesson holds: without repetition and practice, people forget quickly.

Since 2024, every full-time employee in Belgium has a right to 5 days of training per year (law of 3 October 2022). The right covers both formal and informal training (the latter directly related to the job). Short, repeated formats help you use it without disrupting the business.
Why traditional training doesn't always work
Too long. Attention drops as the hours of continuous theory pile up. Phones come out, minds wander. You can't blame participants.
Too theoretical. Hours of slides with no immediate practice. Research on learning shows two techniques stand out: practising retrieval (quizzes, exercises) and spacing sessions out over time.
Disconnected from the real world. Generic textbook cases instead of scenarios from your teams' daily work. Participants don't recognise themselves in the examples and switch off.
Our approach is different: 70% practice, 20% discussion, 10% theory. And formats that fit your schedule, not the other way round.
Our 4 formats
Lunch & learn (1 hour). During the lunch break, one focused topic, practical exercises. Ideal for raising awareness across a whole team without affecting production. Examples: spotting phishing, using AI safely, understanding your GDPR obligations. We bring the content, you bring the sandwiches.
Half-day (3 hours). A deeper dive into a specific topic with immediate practice. Perfect for technical teams or managers who want to upskill quickly. Examples: advanced prompt engineering, security audit basics, the EU AI Act.
Team building (full day). Team exercises, attack simulations, solving real cases in groups. This format builds cohesion and skills at the same time. Ideal for a leadership team or an IT team building a security culture.
Conference (1.5 hours). A talk followed by questions and answers. The format for launching an AI or cyber initiative in front of a large audience and building momentum for change.
